Gaming on Pop!_OS: Aaron's Picks

Cozy up in your favorite gaming chair, because we have some hot game picks recommended for you by System76 gamer and Happiness Architect, Aaron Honeycutt. We asked him to pick games from 5 different genres, so you can spend less time researching and more time gaming on Pop!_OS!

Puzzle: The Entropy Centre — "Real Portal feel with fresh, unique gameplay."

This mind-bender hands you a talking gun that rewinds objects through time in different puzzle rooms and has a real Portal-like feel. It’s relaxing for the most part, but there are intense situations that get your heart pumping when you get a little deeper into the game. It’s as exciting as a puzzle game should be.

Shooter: Sprawl"Great soundtrack and combat movement."

Your objective in this game is to escape a walled city.  It’s a cool shooting game with slow motion effects and wall jumping. The slow motion helps with aiming and let's you swap weapons quickly — It's similar to DOOM 2018 in that way, at least for switching weapons. The industrial sound of the music matches the dystopian scenes, creating immersive gameplay.

Free to Play: Warframe"Love the gameplay and options."

This one is a good grind for building weapons and improving the Tenno, which are the characters you control in the game. There are multiple weapons you can build, and tons of options to customize. You travel through space on a ship and go from quest to quest, with so many different gameplay options that it feels like a forever type of game. Although it’s a free- to- play game, you can pay your way to improving the Tenno and weapons at your own pace if grinding is not your style.

Sim: Coffee Talk — "Amazing soundtrack, great conversations and characters."

A slow-paced, chill game with a soundtrack to relax the mind is what you’ll find with Coffee Talk. Learn how to make different coffee drinks while you get to know various characters through interesting conversation. It’s a calm setting kept laid back with the game’s easy-listening soundtrack.

Farming: Stardew Valley"So much content to play, amazing travel game too!"

Everything about this game is good. You inherit a farm and try to make it thrive by fostering beneficial relationships and building back up a town in shambles. There are dozens of plant and crop options that help you build other items and make money. You can enjoy an infinite amount of fun with this game.
