Denver — System76, the leading provider of Linux computers, has just released a new Gazelle laptop featuring new NVIDIA 50 Series graphics and an Intel Core™ Series 2 processor.

The new everyday companion, the Gazelle provides students, devs, casual gamers, and more with a fast, convenient system to learn and build opportunity.

CPU

The Gazelle’s 14-core, 20-thread Intel Core 7 250H processor is built to handle the resource strains of modern software and multitasking workloads, while supporting 5600MHz memory speeds. This laptop can be configured with up to 64GB of RAM, making quick work of code compiling, streaming, and editing.

GPU

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 5050 graphics card greatly expands the Gazelle’s graphics capabilities, able to facilitate consistent content creation while empowering students to hone their skills with automation, machine learning, 3D modeling and more. Plus, it’s perfect for gallivanting around game worlds with friends.

Privacy
The Gazelle runs light System76 Open Firmware, which is powered by open source Coreboot technology. This allows System76 firmware engineers to disable the Intel Management Engine and provide periodic firmware updates for further protection.

Additionally, the Gazelle’s webcam privacy shutter allows the user to disable the webcam and protect their identity.
