Introducing the New Thelio Mira High Performance Desktop

The new Thelio Mira quarter turned to the right with text that reads "Just Launched: Thelio Mira. Engineered for High Performance Under Demanding Workloads

System76 announces the next generation of the Thelio Mira, our handcrafted professional desktop. The redesign boosts performance, improves repairability, and conveniently places front ports alongside a high-quality tempered glass facade.

Form

The new Thelio Mira reflects our approach to Precision Industrialism—industrial materials shaped with restraint and intention. Rather than treating the computer as a decorative object, the design focuses on clarity, durability, and purpose.

A monolithic tempered glass front creates a calm, architectural surface, while soft radiused edges give the system a balanced presence on the desk. The vertically oriented, milled metal control bar integrates the power button and front I/O, providing a tactile focal point without disrupting the simplicity of the enclosure.

Ventilation is expressed as part of the design rather than hidden. The steel mesh side panel and vent geometry reveal the system’s airflow while adding subtle texture to the otherwise restrained form.

The result is a machine that reads less like consumer electronics and more like professional equipment—precise, purposeful, and built to last.

Function

Thelio Mira is designed to sustain high performance under demanding workloads while remaining quiet. Improvements to thermal design and system architecture deliver higher sustained performance, with CPU clock speeds increasing by up to 19% while reducing operating temperatures by as much as 13.5 degrees.

Liquid cooling enables the processor to maintain peak performance under extended workloads, keeping the system both faster and cooler during compute-intensive tasks.

Serviceability was a core design goal. Quick-access magnetic panels and a thoughtfully organized interior allow components to be accessed, upgraded, or replaced with minimal effort. A bottom dust filter removes easily for cleaning, helping maintain airflow and long-term performance. Front-facing ports provide convenient connectivity, while the overall design prioritizes hardware longevity.

Thelio Mira is built to support demanding professional and technical workloads including data analytics, AI and machine learning, computer science and robotics, scientific research, as well as high-performance gaming.

Manufacturing

Thelio Mira is designed and manufactured at the System76 factory in Denver, Colorado. Producing the system in-house allows us to maintain close control over materials, fabrication, and final assembly.

The enclosure combines tempered glass, aluminum, and steel components selected for durability and long-term reliability. Key structural and interface elements, including the milled metal control bar and PCI brace, are precisely machined to ensure strength, alignment, and stability over years of use.

Durability extends to the smallest details. Rather than cutting threads directly into soft aluminum, we use steel PEM fasteners for threaded connections. These hardened inserts provide stronger, longer-lasting threads and maintain their integrity through repeated service, upgrades, and reassembly.

Each system is assembled, tested, and validated at our Denver facility before shipment. Keeping engineering, fabrication, and assembly under one roof allows us to continuously refine both the design and the manufacturing process.

Potential

The Thelio Mira is designed to maximize the performance of every high-end component, allowing you to get the most from your investment.

Configurable up to:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU (16 Cores, up to 5.7 GHz boost speeds)
  • 192 GB DDR5 memory
  • 28 TB of storage
  • Nvidia RTX 5090 graphics
