New Adder WS Laptop from System76 Includes 14th Gen Intel, High Storage

Denver — Leading Linux computer maker System76 is on a mission to empower curious minds to bring their ideas to fruition. The AI boom is here, but what comes next? Now, to further maximize performance, System76 is in the process of updating their laptop line with 14th Gen Intel CPUs. The upgrade has already brought higher clock speeds to the Bonobo WS graphics powerhouse and high end Serval WS laptops — and today, System76 announces a new Adder WS.

The Adder WS is a career-starter of a laptop, an execution accelerator for budding mavericks. Inside its sleek exterior resides a powerful medley: An HX-class Intel i9 CPU (now 14th Gen), NVIDIA 40 Series graphics, DDR5 RAM, and PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage.

In addition to the new chip, the Adder WS can also be configured with up to 12TB of storage across 3 drives. For dream chasers and solo travelers, this means working with larger data sets, more complex animations, and on breaks, a larger game library.

Unlike other computers in its class, the Adder WS ships with Pop!_OS preinstalled. Pop!_OS equips users with a multitude of powerful software features. The System76 Scheduler, for example, directs more CPU resources towards the window you’re actively using. Meanwhile, the High Performance power setting prioritizes performance over fan noise.

Workflow quality-of-life features include the ability to encrypt your system on setup, tile windows automatically, stack windows, and initiate or schedule updates on your own terms.

Tensorman is unique to Pop!_OS and acts as a Tensorflow toolchain management tool in Docker. AI engineers can use Tensorman for different versions of Tensorflow, as well as use condensed, easy-to-remember versions of large Tensorflow commands that are frequently utilized.
