System76 releases powerful Serval WS laptop

Great all-rounder for fast, fluid visualization.

Denver — Computer hardware manufacturer System76 specializes in high value, high-performance Linux systems — like the newly refreshed Serval WS laptop, which is now equipped with a 14th Gen Intel i9-14900HX CPU.

Released today, the latest Serval WS houses a high-end CPU & GPU combo, supported by high-bandwidth DDR5 RAM, fast NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage; high-speed USB-C, USB-A, and Thunderbolt; and high refresh rates in a variety of resolutions.

The Serval WS is at its peak with AI workloads. Iteration becomes portable with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and an ensemble of impressively quick components. Train or integrate AI at or away from the lab with protein folding, creative concepting, or other visual workloads.

Three display options with high refresh rates give the Serval WS the edge. Users can configure this laptop with a 17” 2K(240Hz refresh rate) or 4K (144Hz) display, or diffuse sunlight with a glare-resistant 15” FHD (165Hz) matte display.

Display & performance also make the Serval WS the ideal gaming laptop. Benchmark tests in Cyberpunk on the RTX 4060 yielded 72FPS using the game’s high graphics setting.

Starting at $2099 — which includes an upgrade to 16GB RAM for the base model — the Serval follows the release of the new Bonobo WS, another laptop powered by Intel’s i9-14900HX CPU but with greater graphics power using an NVIDIA RTX 4080 or 4090 GPU. Stay tuned for more laptop line updates in the first half of 2024.
