Two beastly System76 computers are in the spotlight at conferences this month. Thelio Mega, our dual-GPU deep learning workstation; and Thelio Astra, our Ampere-powered arm64 workstation for autonomous driving and software-defined vehicles showcase their prowess with two automated demos at CES and COVESA.

The PC giant GIGABYTE™ chose to show off their AI TOP utility on the Thelio Mega via their TRX50 motherboard. AI TOP empowers users to develop AI models locally and securely by simplifying local AI training. Taking advantage of two NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 GPUs, Thelio Mega is running the CogVideoX-5B text-to-video AI model all conference long, generating 6-second videos using attendees’ text prompts.

Thelio Mega at CES is configured with a 192-core AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper Pro 7995WX processor, 512GB of ECC RAM, and a long-lasting 1TB SSD.

Meanwhile, Thelio Astra takes to COVESA armed with a 128-core Ampere® Altra® processor, 128GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA A400 graphics card. Thelio Astra is featured at Ampere and System76’s booth, showcasing the might of Ampere’s ARM64 CPU. This machine will be cycling through various pre-made Blender scenes provided online by Blender and Phoronix, rendering them alongside the btop utility that monitors CPU performance. With this processor, the renders are as quick as they are plentiful.

Tier IV, a company developing autonomous driving software, is featuring a Thelio Astra at their booth as well, showcasing its performance using a driving simulator demo.
